Extemporary Dance Theatre

Does anyone remember our off shoot company, Extemporary Dance Theatre?This was such a vibrant, experimental time when we were working across so many disciplines in dance. We used the voice, experimented with the use of props, encouraged to use musical instruments , worked with poets, actors and writers. I remember we had an affiliation with Central School as well. Does anyone have photos, film footage, reviews, old programmes? I was working with Extemporary the same time as Corrine B. Jeff Powell was administrator and of course still being part of the Place, we rehearsed and attended classes there.

Hi, isn't this brilliant....so many reconnections, and Rebecca I did often wonder about you. Do you actually remember any of the pieces we performed in? I remember all the travelling from venue to venue in the van!!! Do you remember going to Cologne to perform Inge's 'No Exit'...I don't know how I got there, I was absolutely 'penniless'. I remember Cologne very well. I had my little brother with me who forgot his coat on the bus? I remember the beautiful stage and the hotel. It was a wonderful time in my life though I did get sidetracked in the little room by the dressing room with the carpenters and their cocaine. I dislocated my shoulder on one of those trips.

Anyone remember this? This photo was used for the poster for one of the Edinburgh Festival shows - not sure which year maybe 1980 or 81. Finally got round to scanning some of the old negs and transparencies and I am afraid some of them have suffered over the years. The Dance Archive at the University of Surrey has prints of most of the decent shots I believe. But if anyone wants to see more of the photos give me a shout and I can stick them on my website.
